Dear OPA members:

As you are aware, in a recent decision, the CBBF no longer recognizes the Ontario Physique Association (OPA) as its official affiliate.

The Ontario Physique Association, formerly known as Bodybuilding Ontario, and its predecessor, the Ontario Amateur Bodybuilding Association (OABBA), has a long-standing, proven track record built on trust and hard work. Many dedicated and passionate individuals, with proven track records, have worked tirelessly over the years, and continue to do so.  This has resulted in the successful and strong organization that we enjoy today.

The OPA has a mandate to promote, and continue promoting its members, as well as the sports of bodybuilding, figure and fitness in Ontario. If we are reinstated as a CBBF affiliate, we will continue this year to help our national and international athletes with financial subsidies and team track suits.

We promote and will continue to promote contests at the "grass roots" levels in all regions in Ontario.  Athletes from every corner of the province have enjoyed, will continue to enjoy, and most importantly, DESERVE the opportunities made available to them. Geography and vast distances SHOULD NEVER be an obstacle to a Members desire to compete.

We will continue promoting the CCES drug-tested Natural Ontario Championships on September 19 which is a direct path to Canadian National Natural Physique Championships and, ultimately, the world championships.

Our mandate has always been, and will continue to be, the promotion and growth of this sport in Ontario and across Canada with integrity, and to bestow upon our members the respect they deserve.
